Orleans, Sam’s Town will be shakin’, buckin’, glitterin’ during NFR
In rodeo and country & Western circles, especially in Las Vegas, the Boyd name carries big weight. Boyd Gaming properties, and the Boyd family are among the biggest supporters of the annual Wrangler National Finals Rodeo® and this December it will be more of the same.
Once again, The Orleans and Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall will lead the way in “places to be and be seen” during the 10 days and nights of the world’s biggest and most epic rodeo.
“Boyd Gaming is thrilled to have the NFR back in Las Vegas,” said Ashlen Manos, Boyd Gaming’s director of loyalty programs, in the pages of the annual NFR BLVD preview magazine. “We are looking forward to welcoming back all of our fans and the contestants to Las Vegas and a Boyd Gaming property. We are excited to welcome fans back to the Orleans Hotel & Casino and Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall. Both are located only a few short miles from all the NFR action. You can enjoy the fun and action with nightly viewing parties and weekend live entertainment, all without the traffic of the Strip. We are proud to be sponsors of the NFR and the PRCA, and this year will be bigger and better than ever because we have a year to make up for. We’re ready, are you?”
Here’s some more inside info from David Strow, VP of Corporate Communications, about what’s in store for 2021:
Hurly’s Hot Spots (HH): The Orleans and Sam’s Town are legendary destinations and sponsors for the NFR. What do you think sets these two apart during the 10 days and nights of NFR?
David Strow: Boyd Gaming has been a sponsor of the rodeo for more than 30 years. So, when we say this isn’t our first rodeo, we mean that literally and figuratively! That’s why we welcome the return of NFR to Las Vegas with open arms and look forward to seeing all of our rodeo friends and regulars again.
Nightly events like the Buckin’ Bash and Rump’s Rodeo Party at The Orleans have become fan-favorites among rodeo lovers because they’re downright fun, but the excitement doesn’t stop there.
Folks are encouraged to gallop on over to Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall where they’ll find the daily live NFR feed and weekend live entertainment in Roxy’s Lounge, plus a festive seasonal display in the indoor atrium, Mystic Falls Park. This holiday-themed attraction features more than 26,000 points of light, a laser light show, wreaths, animatronic animals, an 18-foot Christmas tree, ornaments, garland-wrapped lamp posts, and much more. Catch the show daily every hour from 2 – 10 p.m.
Our events offer up all of the ingredients that make the perfect recipe for a good and memorable time. Thanks to hilarious hosts like Justin Rumford combined with live entertainment, drink specials and giveaways … Boyd Gaming is welcoming NFR back to Vegas the right way. The Orleans and Sam’s Town are hot spots for rodeo fans every year, and we anticipate that trend will continue this year.
HH: Specifically, the Buckin’ Bash is epic for NFR Fans and Justin Rumford is a character in many ways. What is the first thing that comes to your mind about having Justin lead the party at Orleans?
DS: When it comes to having Justin “Rumpshaker” Rumford lead the parties at The Orleans, the first thing that comes to mind is hilarity! There is a reason why he’s been named by PRCA as Clown of the Year nine times.
This NFR viewing party kicks-off at 5 p.m. Dec. 2-11 and brings all the antics, laughter, special guests, and chances to win prizes to Bourbon Street Lounge at The Orleans. This event is the perfect place to pre-game and/or watch the rodeo excitement live.
As the rodeo action wraps up, 21-and-older patrons can stay in Bourbon Street Lounge for the best rodeo party after dark since 2010, the Buckin’ Bash. The event begins at 9 p.m., Dec. 2-11
HH: How can you put into words what the Buckin’ Bash vibe is like?
DS: Saddle up for the greatest cowboy party after dark! As Ashley Rumford, Justin’s wife, says, “The vibe of the Justin Rumford Buckin’ Bash is a match to his personality.” Fans will enjoy live country music, drink specials, two-stepping, and rodeo celebrity guests inside the Bourbon Street Lounge. You never know which rodeo legend you might enjoy the night with.
