Wrangler Rodeo Arena at Cowboy FanFest to Feature Exhibitions and Competitions that Bring Fans Close to Rodeo
 
Arena designed as a replica of the Thomas & Mack Center
 
LAS VEGAS (November 4, 2013) – Wrangler Rodeo Arena presented by Priefert, one of the six main features of Cowboy FanFest, will bring bull riding, exhibitions, horsemanship demonstrations and specialty acts direct to fans.
 
Free to the public, Cowboy FanFest is open 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily and features 100,000 square feet of the best of the Western lifestyle, giving fans a chance to enjoy the best that rodeo has to offer.  Located adjacent to the Cowboy Christmas Gift Show, Cowboy FanFest will run concurrently with the Wrangler NFR, from Thursday, Dec. 5 through Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
 
Wrangler Rodeo Arena, which boasts a seating capacity of 1,300, is designed as a replica of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo arena and will host a variety of events. Highlights at Rodeo Arena include:
 
Guy McLean Horsemanship – Dec. 5-6, 9, 11-15 at 11:45 a.m. (PT)
Cowboy Mounted Shooting – Dec. 10-14 at 10:30 a.m. (PT)
Ranch Sorting – Dec. 10-11, 13-14 at 3 p.m. (PT)
National Cutting Horse Association – Dec. 5-6, 8-9 at 3 p.m. (PT) and Dec. 7 at 10:30 a.m. (PT)
Mini-Bucking Bulls – Dec. 5-6, 8-14 at 4 p.m. (PT)
 
Individual events include the Miss Rodeo America Foundation Auction on Dec. 7 at 11:30 a.m. (PT), the Miss Rodeo America Horsemanship Competition on Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. (PT) and Flag Girl Competition on Dec. 10 at 11:45 a.m. The popular Exceptional Rodeo will move from the Thomas & Mack Center to Cowboy FanFest and will take place Monday, Dec. 9 at 10 a.m. (PT).
 
One of the new elements in 2013 is the Exclusive Genetics Million Dollar Bucking Bull and Rider Tournament that will feature 24 of the world’s highest-earning bulls against 16 top bull riders. Daily performances will be held at 1 p.m. (PT) on Dec. 5-6 and 9-13 and 3 p.m. on Dec. 7.

In addition to Wrangler Rodeo Arena, Cowboy FanFest will include the following main anchor displays and programming elements:
 
· Ram Rodeo Live – Daily features include live music, plus Flint Rasmussen with his popular show, “Outside the Barrel” and more;
· Boot Barn Saloon – Every great party needs a saloon. Boot Barn Saloon, in the center of FanFest, features video screens with a replay of the prior night’s Wrangler NFR performance and additional features;
· Rodeo Round Up – Located adjacent to the Saloon, this area features a menu of Holstein’s Shakes and Buns and Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop;
· Lucas Oil Rodeo Way – This “Old West” setting features the best of rodeo exhibits including NFR after Dark, History of NFR, NFR Livestock, Miss Rodeo America and select rodeos;
· RFD-TV – RFD-TV will produce a daily live program from FanFest that includes previews of the Wrangler NFR, interviews with Wrangler NFR contestants, as well as features and segments on the post-event entertainment and artists performing along the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown during the ten days and much more.

Sold out for 270 consecutive performances, the Wrangler NFR attracts the top 15 contestants in bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing and bull riding as they compete for a share of the $6.25 million purse.  Qualification is based on the 2013 Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association World Standings.

The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR), considered the world’s premier rodeo, features 10 straight days of the best in rodeo competition, with a total of 120 contestants competing every night in seven events.  Each December, the top 15 contestants, based on the 2013 PRCA World Standings, in bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing, and bull riding qualify to compete at the Wrangler NFR.
